Hear Ken’s fascinating story with photos as a member of the 1989 American Everest Expedition. The preparations, the trek, the challenges, the beauty. The expedition had two primary goals; the first being to put the first American woman on the summit and the second to put the first Mexican on the summit. On May 16, 1989, Ricardo Torres became the first Mexican to Summit Mt. Everest. Ken will also share his insights on the differences from ’89 to the present that are contributing to the problems on Everest today.
