This hike begins at the Avalon Area Orange Grove parking lot, follows the Cascade, and other trails weaving through the Howard County hills south of the Patapsco. We cross the footbridge past the old Bloede Dam site and up into the hills on the Baltimore County side. We descend to cross the second footbridge over the river and back to the parking lot.
