A.T. Vista is the new name for the Appalachian Trail biennial conferences that were held in various locations near the Trail for many years. The 2023 Vista will be held in in the beautiful Johnson City, Tennessee area, with hikes, excursions, workshops and entertainment at the East Tennessee State University campus. The event will be held over four days, Friday through Monday August 4-7, for a gathering with hundreds of hiking and outdoor enthusiasts. This year’s Vista event is being hosted and coordinated by a collaboration among the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association (northeasttennessee.org) and the Visit Johnson City organizations. This is a first of its kind collaboration of a local community taking a lead role in managing and coordinating an ATC member meeting and partnering with ATC and a trail maintaining club (TEHCC).
Northeast Tennessee borders North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains. With 230 miles of internationally known rivers and 288 miles of the Appalachian Trail, it’s the true outdoors with endless opportunities to explore and less time sitting in traffic. Northeast Tennessee’s Tri-Cities of Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City and small towns along the way make up a diverse region of outdoor recreation, music, history and everything in between. It is our mission for this summit to be a place where diversity is recognized and celebrated for all trails and all people. For more information, click here AT Vista 2023.
