This is an out-and-back hike following Gulf Branch and the Potomac River using a portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail (PHT) in Arlington County, VA. Sights along the trail include wooded streams, waterfalls, rocky scarps, remnants of long ago industry, pretty views of the Potomac (yes, really) and Georgetown along the opposite shore. We will take our break at the Teddy Roosevelt Memorial on Roosevelt Island before retracing our steps back to our starting point. The hike is 8 miles…
