This hike of 10-11 miles will start from the Upper Parking Lot in Gambrills State Park and use a combination of trails in Gambrills and the Frederick Municipal Forest. Please indicate whether you plan to carpool or meet at the trailhead.

CATOCTIN MOUNTAIN PARK (WESTSIDE TRAILS) – 7M

We will hike approximately 7 miles at a moderate pace (2.4 mph) on the less traveled westside trails of Catoctin Mountain Park. The approximate elevation gain is 900 ft. LITTLE GUNPOWDER FALLS/JESSE’S TRAIL HIKE – 5.5 E/M

In and out hike along wooded trails some along the falls and some on Jesse’s trail. We will leave from Harford Rd, cross Belair Rd and go a short distance toward Jerusalem Mills. Hiking poles recommended. Few very minor creek crossings but may be muddy in spots. Rocky areas along parts of the trail.
