This is the third of nine hikes in the Moderate Plus AT series across Maryland. An out and back hike of a total of 9.5 miles going south from Wolfsville Road (MD-17) to Pogo Memorial Campsite. Total elevation gain is 700'. Pace averages 2.0 to 2.5 mph. There is an extensive section of rocky trail.

PVSP: Avalon to Buzzard Rocks Loop – 11H

This loop hike will leave from the Avalon area of Patapsco Valley State Park and cross over to the other side of the river, then return. We will hike the Morning Choice, Cascade, Bloede Dam, Grist Mill, Buzzard Rocks, and Ridge Trails.
